Lockheed Martin Honored by State of Florida for Innovative STEM Education

Lockheed Martin has been honored with the 2013 Florida Education Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award for innovate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) contributions to the Manatee County School System.

Since 2003, Lockheed Martin has partnered with the Manatee County School District and the Manatee Education Foundation to support STEM education through contributions and volunteer efforts to support Technology Student Associations, district science fairs, Space Day, classroom grants and professional development for teachers.

The Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards are administered by the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Education Foundation to encourage successful alliances within the business community and among local school districts for the benefit of Florida’s students.
