Lockheed Martin’s Chris Sembroski made history last week, as he and the other members of the Inspiration4 crew successfully completed their mission to space, becoming the first all-civilian crew to accomplish the feat.  The flight orbited the Earth for three days before returning home via a splash landing in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida.

Part of the Inspiration4 mission was to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The four members of the crew represent the four values promoted by the mission: leadership, hope, generosity and prosperity. Chris represents “generosity,” given the fact he was selected after donating to a St. Jude’s raffle for a seat on the flight.  So far, the mission has raised $200 million for the research hospital.
