Aegis Deployed

Aegis Deployed

Anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, ballistic missile defense—whatever the mission, the Aegis offers the U.S. Navy the world’s most capable, integrated combat system.

Arleigh-Burke Class Destroyer

Currently 62 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers in the fleet, with an additional 13 ships under contract. These ships rely upon the proven architecture linking Aegis and the Mk-41 vertical launch system with the SPY-1 radar to meet any threat.

The Aegis modernization program provides mid-life upgrades to increase the warfighting capabilities of Aegis destroyers so that they remain an integral part of the Fleet.

Ticonderoga-Class Cruiser

The Ticonderoga-class cruisers rely upon the Aegis Combat System to fulfill their multi-mission role as surface combatants, whether operating in support of a battle group or operating independently.
