ISPA Offers Affordable Solutions to C-5 and C-130 Technical Publications
ISPA, Inc., has been a proven partner with Lockheed Martin for more than a decade by offering innovative and affordable technical publications solutions to Lockheed Martin’s C-5 and C-130 programs. Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., ISPA is a dynamic, rapidly growing engineering and information technology services firm specializing in IT consulting services, systems engineering, management services, document management and imaging products and services.
Lockheed Martin’s relationship started with ISPA, a Small Disadvantaged Business, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, when the companies first entered into a Mentor Protégé Program agreement with the U.S. Air Force. The Mentor-Protégé Program is a Government outreach program designed to assist small businesses in competing for prime contract and subcontract awards and developing needed business and technical capabilities to diversify the customer base and penetrate new markets previously outside their focus.
At the time of the initial agreement, ISPA had approximately 55 employees and the two companies worked together to develop an innovative solution to help automate technical manuals for the C-130.
The product ISPA developed, called Infolinker, automates the development of hyperlinks within and between PDF files. With this product, Lockheed Martin was able to automate the hyperlinking process producing more than 80,000 hyperlinks within the 270+ book set that makes up the C-130J maintenance and flight manuals.
Since developing Infolink, ISPA’s services have evolved to provide technical publications subcontracting support in authoring, quality control, quality assurance and requirements for both the C-130 and C-5 programs.
“ISPA continues to support and enhance their Infolinker product as well as provides highly qualified solutions at very competitive rates to meet the short-term needs of the programs,” said Lance Yeates, Technical Publications Manager, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. “In addition to offering affordable solutions, ISPA is considered a value-add partner to Lockheed Martin because of “their responsiveness, willingness to go beyond the call of duty to make sure Lockheed Martin gets what it needs to support customer contracts and its unwavering support,” adds Yeates.
As for the future of ISPA, according to Byron King, Vice President of ISPA, the company plans to position itself by focusing on its core competencies. ISPA’s business development program and growth strategy receives its impetus from three definitive divisions: the Systems Engineering Division, Software Sales and Support Division, and the Technical and Management Services Division.
