Underdeck Cargo Winch Retrofit Kit
The Underdeck Cargo Winch Retrofit kit for the C-130H allows the newer underfloor cargo winch originally developed for the C-130J to be retrofitted into older C-130s.

- Infinitely variable reel-in and reel-out speeds and precision movement as low five feet per minute
- Fully stowed out of the way to not block valuable cargo floor space using Quick Access Panel
- Increased Safety:
- Eliminates potential Loadmaster injuries from having to maneuver a 300 lb (136 kg) above-deck ‘Bulldog’ winch around the cargo compartment
- Eliminate additional Trip Hazards from use of tie-down chains
- Larger cable diameter with higher breaking strength
- Positive control of cargo with increased capacity greatly increases safety to personnel
The underfloor cargo winch has been developed, tested, and successfully operated on many C-130J aircraft for years. The kit and Service Bulletin are designed for the “short” C-130H aircraft but can be designed for other versions as well. Installation of this modification kit can be done with a minimum of changes to the aircraft and the kit can be provided with installation support and a Lockheed Martin field installation team, if desired.
