Lockheed Martin performance recognised by NATS
LONDON, April 11, 2013 - Lockheed Martin UK has been confirmed as one of the leading service providers to air traffic control management specialists NATS and has been awarded a supplier performance award for the sixth consecutive year.
Achieving the NATS Supplier Performance Award underpins the long-term relationship between Lockheed Martin and NATS that spans more than 25 years of Lockheed Martin supporting the UK’s air traffic management systems.
Lockheed Martin’s work with NATS embraces a wide range of services including systems architecture, systems engineering, software development, systems integration and lab support.
Tim Bullock, NATS Director of Supply Chain Management, said: “Lockheed Martin is a customer focused supplier who work with us in a true collaboration. They are open and honest with us at all levels of the organisation and they deliver on their commitments. ”
The NATS’ Supplier Performance Management (SPM) Programme is a formalised process that benchmarks a supplier’s performance over time, leading to continuous improvements in the way a supplier and customer work together in partnership.
“We are delighted to receive this award for the sixth consecutive year. Our relationship with NATS continues to go from strength to strength and during our executive review with NATS it was an honour to see words like flexible, pro-active, professional, trusted, and motivated used by NATS to describe the LM team,” said Mark Cooper, managing director of Lockheed Martin UK Information Systems and Global Solutions Civil.
“Our long-standing open and honest partnership has enabled us to move forward together and deliver a safe and cost-effective air traffic capability, which forms a vitally important part of the UK’s national infrastructure.”
With more than 50 years of experience, Lockheed Martin is a world leader in air traffic management. Today, Lockheed Martin-built systems manage more than 60 percent of the world’s air traffic.
