In her remarks, Hewson introduced Sikorsky employees to the Corporation’s business structure, talked about the values that define a Lockheed Martin employee, and explained how Sikorsky advances each element of Lockheed Martin’s growth strategy.
“Today is the beginning of an exciting new period for our company. Bringing Sikorsky into the Lockheed Martin portfolio positions all of us for long-term growth and continued success,” Hewson said, “Sikorsky’s strong reputation with military customers will help us secure and extend our business in the rotary-wing aircraft space. Their operations on five continents will expand our global reach. And their foothold in commercial sectors such as the oil and gas industry will help us diversify our customer base.”
New Logo for a New Era
During the event, Hewson unveiled the new Sikorsky logo which brings together the historic Sikorsky name with the Lockheed Martin star, which is synonymous with the company’s purpose, performance and integrity.
Since 1928, Sikorsky’s “Winged-S” logo has symbolized the perseverance and inventive spirit that enabled Igor Sikorsky to help pioneer the aviation industry with helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft. As a Lockheed Martin company, Sikorsky will preserve its brand identity, and the “Winged-S” logo will continue to be an element of this new brand.
The new Sikorsky logo highlights the qualities that Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky share: a passion for innovation; a sense of duty to our customers; and a commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
