The Lockheed Martin ACV Team

In concert with the Marine Corp’s desire for domestic production, Lockheed Martin has assembled a supplier team that will enable the manufacturing and delivery of a vehicle that meets or exceeds their requirements at the right price. Lockheed Martin is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Systems Integrator, and Final Assembly, Integration and Test agent for our ACV solution. Our major teammates include Merrill Technologies Group, Horstman and Caterpillar.

Merrill is responsible for manufacturing the survivability hull and performing base vehicle integration and test for the ACV 1.1 program. We pride ourselves on providing leading service in an industry where quality cannot be compromised.


Horstman Inc. is based in Sterling Heights, MI with Group companies in Bath, UK, and Vaughan, ON.  Horstman Inc. has teamed with Timoney Technologies Limited, based in Navan Ireland and Kinetics Drive Solutions, based in Langley BC  to provide a developed 9 tonne axle and extensive subsystems supply and support.

The Horstman Team bring together complimentary skills to add value to Lockheed Martin with proven, effective solutions for the ACV 1.1 and other vehicle markets.

Horstman has structured a team to meet the requirements of the Lockheed Martin ACV 1.1 Program.  Horstman is providing the Lockheed Martin ACV 1.1 Program with: advanced hydropneumatic® suspension with ride height control and Selectable Damping, Sub frame, chassis, steering, power train and independent suspension, Hydraulics, power brakes with ABS/TCS, swim drives/control, powering steering, vetronics and diagnostics.


Caterpillar Inc. is providing a complete integrated power pack for the Lockheed Martin ACV. The major components of the power pack include the Caterpillar C13 engine rated at 711 horsepower, the CX31 transmission, and the cooling system.
