Name: Anna
Years at Lockheed Martin: 10.5 years
What is your current position? What are your day-to-day responsibilities? As a Lockheed Martin Finance Manage I am responsible for Cost Control, and Government and Accounting Reporting. I am also our division’s Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Awareness Chairperson and have been volunteering through the group for over seven years.
Can you tell us why you care so much about volunteering?
I started volunteering in Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics activities early on in my career because I wanted to inspire children and show them what amazing opportunities exist beyond the life they currently live. During a school event at the University of Central Florida in 2016, I noticed a very familiar face in the crowd – my little cousin Axel. When he was just 4 years old, he was diagnosed with Autism. He’s always been very inquisitive and looked up to me and during the event I could see how fascinated he was by a fellow Lockheed Martin employee’s remote-controlled helicopter demonstration. A few months later, Axel’s mother told me he had developed a new-found interest – he wanted to become an engineer and work at Lockheed Martin. We worked with over 900 students at that event from various Orange County schools, but that day, it all came back full circle for me.
Do you wish to work with talented and caring people? If so, a career at Lockheed Martin might be for you.
