Years at Lockheed Martin: 7 years
What is your current position?
Systems Engineer for Integration and Test
What are your day-to-day responsibilities? I manage a wide range of responsibilities within my program area to include Systems Engineering I&T and Requirements support, mostly Platform Integration. From one day to the next, you could find me in a lab putting together test equipment or working with hardware, on a range reviewing test data, or in front of one of our many customers at various sites.
Can you tell us about your journey?
“The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war,” a quote that I’ve always lived by and believe is part of the reason I work for Lockheed Martin. It’s about preparing yourself for the inevitable. It’s about working hard for the right reasons. I volunteer as an L-1 certified CrossFit coach at CrossFit Milk District in Orlando, FL about 150 hours a year. It is my happy place, a sanctuary of health, fitness and community. It is a medium through which I am able to physically challenge myself beyond any preconceived expectations. Coaching a wide array of clients, caring for their health and researching different ways to confront fitness hurdles associated with their unique circumstances has taught me more about myself than I thought possible. My systems engineering career at Lockheed Martin and my experience coaching at CrossFit Milk District have without a doubt defined my work ethic and molded my character. These life experiences complement one another on levels I never would have anticipated. Seven years ago I stepped through the door and I don’t plan on ever going back!
