Lockheed Martin was recognized in 2020 for its performance on world-renowned sustainability ratings and indices.

“I am proud of these successes and look forward to continuing Lockheed Martin’s sustainability progress in 2021,” said Leo S. Mackay, Jr., Senior Vice President of Ethics and Enterprise Assurance. “Lockheed Martin's achievements throughout 2020 have demonstrated the commitment, leadership and innovation of our employees in advancing our company's sustainability efforts.”

CDP, an international non-profit organization that runs a globally recognized rating system focused on corporate environmental transparency, listed Lockheed Martin on its ‘A List’ for climate change. The annual ‘A List’ names the world's most pioneering companies leading on environmental transparency and climate performance. The corporation continues to outperform North American peers on CDP’s rating system.

In addition, Lockheed Martin has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) for the seventh consecutive year, as well as the North American index for the eighth consecutive year. The DJSI, issued by S&P Global, is a global sustainability ranking that provides capital markets access to detailed corporate sustainability performance. The total Sustainability score was in the 97th percentile in our industry, an increase over 2019.

Lockheed Martin makes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures available on its website and in the fall of 2020 added a Climate-Related Risks and Opportunities assessment in alignment with the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and a Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) report.

Lockheed Martin plans to publish its annual sustainability report in April, which will highlight achievements made in the past year upon the completion of the 2020 Sustainability Management Plan, reveal an updated 2025 Sustainability Management Plan and highlight progress on the new Go Green targets.

The corporation’s Go Green initiative promotes environmental stewardship and operational efficiency through reductions in carbon, energy, water and waste. The initiative has led to reductions in carbon emissions, energy usage, water usage and waste disposal since its introduction in 2007.

The Sustainability Management Plan is a key component of Lockheed Martin’s sustainability strategy, centered around core issues that reflect long-standing commitments to ethics, transparency and integrity in decision making and day-to-day operations.
