And while Darkstar may be fictional, its capabilities are real. We recently completed a successful hypersonic flight test on ARRW, a defense system designed for the U.S. Air Force.

6. Quieting the Sonic Boom

The X-59 experimental aircraft, designed to reduce loud sonic booms for NASA, progressed closer to its first supersonic flight over land.

The Orion spacecraft that will carry astronauts back to the moon in 2024 turned on its computers for the first time allowing the team to test critical crew modules that are considered the ‘brain’ and ‘heart’ of the spacecraft.

We partnered with GM and MDA to equip our lunar rover design with a robotic arm that will enable more scientific research on the Moon.

9. Strengthening Army Aviation

With the signing of the 10th multiyear Black Hawk contract, the U.S. Army will continue to operate the helicopter for decades to come.

10. Delivering Mission Critical Capabilities

The U.S. Marine Corps achieved initial operational capability for the CH-53K King Stallion, which is a major milestone for the most modern and powerful helicopter in the Defense Department inventory.

11. Harnessing the Power of Lasers

The U.S. Navy conducted a historic test of our new Layered Laser Defense, an all-electric, high-energy system that can counter unmanned aerial systems and fast-attack boats with a high-power laser.
