Lockheed Martin CEO Statement on Support for Computer Science Education
“Our nation will need more computer scientists to ensure we remain the global leader in advanced design and manufacturing. We will need to work together as never before to ensure we are doing all we can to inspire, encourage, and develop the workforce of the future.
Encouraging more students to become computer scientists will take a strong partnership among government, the private sector, academia, and charitable groups. We at Lockheed Martin are ready to do our part. Today we are pledging to invest $25 million in computer science education over the next five years. This is in addition to the $50 million we will invest in other outreach programs focused on science, technology, engineering and math—the critical STEM fields.
I am pleased to see the Trump administration working to address this important skills gap.”
