Lockheed Martin has supported the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) with its Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions (JAMES) logistics technology since 2005.
Run as a managed service, this intuitive and powerful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system delivers a range of tools to assist in the planning and execution of equipment and provides a true through-life management capability solution for the management of millions of military equipment parts used by the UK Armed Forces. The technology is relied upon by the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force to swiftly identify the status, availability, condition, ownership, location and quantity of equipment and is key to the knowledge of when something needs to be replaced, maintained or how quickly
supplies are used and where they are needed. From screws and bolts through to weapons and vehicles, JAMES supports quick and cost-effective decision-making to improve operational effectiveness.
JAMES enables the MOD to remain current with the various legislative and regulatory requirements laid down by safety or environmental considerations.
JAMES interfaces with other MOD systems and includes a deployed solution capable of operating away from the main base for extended periods.
The underlying operating system of JAMES provides the basis for the F-35 Autonomic Logistic Information System (ALIS) and the US Army’s ‘Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations [TADSS] Management Programme (ATMP).
The UK National Audit Office (NAO) use JAMES information when conducting audits of MOD assets and their management.
