Gopal joined Lockheed Martin Ventures from Motorola Solutions, where his most recent role was the General Manager of Motorola's Drone Software business, providing Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Drone solutions to public safety and government customers. Having been at Motorola for 23 years, Gopal is an experienced technologist and corporate venture capital investor who spent 5+ years with Motorola Solutions Venture Capital. He has invested in cutting-edge AI startups and has been nominated as Rising Star by Global Corporate Venturing. At Lockheed Martin Ventures, Gopal invests in rotary and mission systems technologies, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), autonomous systems, and power and propulsion technologies.
Gopal holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business with a concentration in Analytical Finance and Accounting. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Purdue University and a B.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
