Big Sensor Performance in Compact, Low-Cost Packages   ___

For over 30 years, Santa Barbara Focalplane (SBF) has led the industry in designing and producing the infrared (IR) and multispectral sensor technologies that guide the world’s most advanced platforms operating on and above the Earth—from unmanned drones and super-sonic tactical fighters to satellites in high orbit.

Our single, multi-band and multi-spectral sensor core subsystems are integrated into higher-level systems such as gyro-stabilized imagers for air, ground and marine vehicles. Fielded systems carrying SBF sensor technology include the F-35 Lightning II Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS), the Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod (ATP) and the AH-1Z Viper Target Sight System.

Our proprietary nBn material enables us to pack big sensor performance into a low-cost package that is small, light and low-power. Our compact 1.3 megapixel μLAD sensor core delivers the high-speed performance of a much larger cooled mid-wave infrared (MWIR) camera, including real-time high dynamic range, electronic stabilization and hostile fire indication.
