electronic Consolidated Automated Support System (eCASS)

Without ground support, there is no air support. Every time a Sailor flies a mission for the next 30 years, the electronic Consolidated Automated Support System (eCASS) will validate that the aircraft is combat ready.

eCASS is the workhorse for avionics repair across the Naval Aviation Enterprise. Through automated testing at sea and ashore, maintainers are able to return equipment to readiness status quickly and efficiently. Compatibility with legacy CASS stations preserves the Navy’s investment in more than 550 Test Program Sets supporting 750 avionic components.

With an architecture based on Lockheed Martin’s LM-STAR® commercial automated testing system, eCASS facilitates technology insertion and long-term supportability while maximizing interoperability and portability among external systems. LM-STAR serves as the cornerstone of the F-35 Lightning II harmonization plan. This enables the multiple manufacturers of the avionics systems to develop tests that seamlessly transition from the factory floor to fleet maintenance depots.
