Built to Mentor: A Gen Z Engineer’s Impact Beyond the Lab
From early-exposure STEM program to radar engineer, Evan is guarding national security while giving back to the program that launched his journey.
From Student to Engineer
Evan’s journey with Lockheed Martin began in high school through a local engineering program. It wasn’t just about building technical skills. The program connected him with mentors who stayed in touch throughout college and supported him during three Lockheed Martin summer internships.
Today, Evan works full-time as a radar systems engineer supporting the U.S. Navy. Many of his former mentors are now colleagues. Together with his twin brother Eric and longtime mentor Josh, Evan now co-leads the same engineering program that helped launch his career.
Helping Others Grow
Evan’s commitment to mentorship extends well beyond the program. He actively supports interns and new hires, helping them navigate the workplace and build confidence in their work.
At the same time, he continues to invest in his own growth. Through Lockheed Martin’s tuition assistance program, Evan is expanding his leadership skills and growing his professional network.
Driven by Purpose
With a family history in the Navy, Evan’s work carries deep personal meaning. Every project feels like part of a larger mission—supporting the warfighter.
A Place to Thrive
Lockheed Martin’s flexible, people-first culture allows Evan to recharge and stay connected outside of work. He volunteers at local schools, spends time with family, and even co-runs a cheese club with his twin brother.
Evan’s story shows how mentorship, purpose, and opportunity can shape not only a career, but a lasting impact. From guiding the next generation to delivering mission-critical technology, he’s proving that the future of defense tech is personal, and it’s already in good hands.
