Energy Star

Recognized for Sustained Excellence in Energy Efficiency
March 28, 2023

Lockheed Martin has been named 2023 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year by  the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for the fifth year in a row, earning the distinguished Sustained Excellence Award for the third time.

Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. ENERGY STAR award winners lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies. These efforts are essential to fighting the climate crisis and protecting public health.

Sustained Excellence
“As we accelerate historic efforts to address climate change, public-private partnerships will be essential to realizing the scale of our ambition,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I applaud this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for working with EPA to deliver a clean energy future that saves American consumers and businesses money and creates jobs.”
2022 Highlights
  • Completion of 78 energy efficiency projects resulting in annual savings of 26 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity and 28,000 million British thermal units, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestered by more than 28,500 acres of U.S. forests in one year.
  • Installation of a twenty (20) megawatt single-axis photovoltaic system at our Palmdale, California facility—the largest privately-sited solar project in the local utility’s 50,000 square mile service area.
  • Studying electrification opportunities at the corporation’s largest natural gas consuming sites.
