Lockheed Martin recently opened a new facility located in the heart of Pleasanton, California. The worksite is a renovated, multi-use building which offers a flexible worksite environment for our employees currently working in the Tri-Valley area.

The multi-million-dollar capital investment for the new facility will help improve employees’ quality of life by providing closer proximity to more affordable housing options and reducing commute times by up to two hours.

Lockheed Martin executives and Tri-Valley officials commemorated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. “The impact of this building is going to transcend capacity and square footage. It symbolizes our collaboration with the Pleasanton community and is a message to Lockheed Martin employees that we value their quality of life and are thinking outside the box to help bolster work-life balance,” said Mark Pasquale, vice president, general manager and Bay Area site executive of Lockheed Martin Space.

With currently 4,000 Lockheed Martin employees in the greater Bay Area, including Sunnyvale, Palo Alto and Santa Cruz, the new Pleasanton location provides access to more affordable housing options. In addition to work-life balance initiatives, the new facility also affords greater opportunity to partner with emerging tech companies in the surrounding area.

“We’ve been a part of Silicon Valley for nearly 70 years, pushing the innovation envelope and advancing critical technologies that underpin some of our nation’s most vital programs,” said Maria Demaree, vice president and general manager of National Security Space at Lockheed Martin Space. “We are looking to partner more with commercial industry to take the best emerging digital technologies and fuse them with our platforms to give our customers unrivaled capability and mission capacity.”
