The Bowl for the Brave
The 2020 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl will be played on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.
Approximately 25% of Lockheed Martin’s U.S. employee population are active-duty military members or veterans. We understand the significant contributions and sacrifices our armed forces personnel make to ensure global and national security. Sponsoring the Armed Forces Bowl is an important way that Lockheed Martin celebrates patriotism and recognizes the efforts of servicemen and servicewomen from all five branches of the military.
While most other bowl games are focused primarily on the game itself and the schools competing, the Armed Forces Bowl is committed to honoring and recognizing active-duty service members, wounded warriors, veterans and their families. In alignment with the game’s purpose, the 2020 Great American Patriot Award recipient will be recognized, wounded warriors will be honored and donations to military charities will be presented.
For the past eight years, Lockheed Martin has been a proud sponsor of the Armed Forces Bowl, donating proceeds from employee ticket sales to military-focused charities. In the interest of employee and community safety, Lockheed Martin has chosen to redirect our tickets to local military service members and veterans wishing to attend the game, while still adhering to a 20% attendee capacity in the stadium.
To keep the spirit of generosity alive during the Dec. 31 game, Lockheed Martin is donating $50,000 to The Mission Continues. These funds will aid in their support of returning military members serving the local communities through neighborhood revitalization and volunteerism.
At Lockheed Martin, we never forgot who we are working for.
