Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill is a wholly owned, 64-acre facility with exciting growth opportunities. Working closely with strategic partners and suppliers, its 550 employees are committed to helping Lockheed Martin’s customers achieve their most challenging goals.

The facility’s skills and expertise support a range of capabilities, including air-land integration, battlespace management, ground-based air defense and weapons safety, integration and support.

Ampthill is at the forefront of complex mission systems integration, system design and development and the implementation of electronic architecture.  This broad portfolio underlines how strategic investments in technology are providing affordable solutions to complex problems.  Working with multiple partners in British industry and academia, Ampthill is bringing a world of innovation to the UK.

In 2015, the Ampthill facility was awarded the highest certification for energy management, after cutting electricity bills by more than £150,000 and nearly halving fuel oil use. Ampthill is now the greenest of the corporation’s sites in the UK, and has achieved the globally-recognized standard ISO50001 for energy management.

Environmental, Safety and Health Policy
The Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Policy of Missiles and Fire Control is to operate our facilities in a regulatory compliant, responsible manner that protects the environment and surrounding communities, commits to pollution prevention and prevention of occupational injury and ill health, conserves natural resources, and provides a safe and healthful workplace for employees, contractors and visitors. The policy requires employees to:

  • Integrate ESH considerations into strategic business decisions, engineering design, procurement, facilities management and production. 
  • Continually improve the environmental aspects and safety and health performance of our business and incorporate establish and review ESH goals in applicable performance measurements.
  • Cultivate ESH responsibility by all employees at all organizational levels and those who work on behalf of and under the control of the company.
