Pilot Training
We offer a range of pilot courses that include both ground school and in-flight training. By leveraging OEM experience, our industry leading subject matter experts deliver an ideal balance of classroom and hands-on training going beyond the basics. It is the difference between “good enough” and “best of the best.” Effective training is the foundation of a reliable maintenance department allowing aircraft to be serviced correctly the first time, faster, and as frequently as required.
BLACK HAWK PILOT INITIAL QUALIFICATION COURSE
The BLACK HAWK Pilot Initial Qualification Course is intended for current qualified commercial helicopter pilots or military equivalent, with no prior BLACK HAWK helicopter qualifications. This course is intended for pilots to learn from our industry-leading, subject matter experts. Students will complete the Sikorsky S-70i/M VFR or IFR Pilot Training Course at Flight Safety International (Phase 1). During Phase 1 students will receive 38 hours of ground instruction and 8 hours of Systems Integration training conducted on a Ground Flight Simulator. In addition to 16 hours Pilot Flying in a S-70i full motion simulator for the IFR course and 12 hours of Pilot Flying for the VFR course. Upon completion of phase 1 in the simulator at FSI the student will move to Phase 2 pilots and will receive 10.0 hours of Pilot-In-Command time in the aircraft.

- Students must possess a current commercial helicopter certificate with instrument rating, or military equivalent and a minimum of 500 flight hours in turbine rotorcraft.

BLACK HAWK MAINTENANCE TEST PILOT FAMILIARIZATION TRAINING COURSE
The BLACK HAWK Maintenance Test Pilot Familiarization course focuses on determining the aircraft airworthiness. Students will utilize aircraft checklists and be shown proven techniques to determine whether the airframe, powerplant, accessories, and other equipment are functioning in accordance with predetermined requirements.
Students will receive 10.0 hours of Second in Command aircraft time.
This course will be conducted in the aircraft and covers the following topics:
- Maintenance Test Flight Preparations
- Preflight Procedures
- Before Starting Engine Checks
- Starting Engine Checks
- Run-Up Checks
- Taxi Checks
- Before Takeoff/Hover Checks
- After Takeoff/Cruise Checks
- After Landing Checks
- Maintenance Test Flight Checks

Campus: 2 Weeks (10 Days)
PREREQUISITES
- Students must possess a current commercial helicopter certificate with instrument rating, or military equivalent and a minimum of 500 flight hours in turbine rotorcraft.
- Students must, within the last 6 months, have 30 hours in type, 20 hours as Pilot in Command in type and 20 hours in specific model.
- Pilots who are not previously qualified in the S-70i/M or H-60M must complete the IFR or VFR BLACK HAWK Pilot Initial Qualification Course (phase 1 and phase 2). Pilots who are previously qualified in the S-70i/M or H-60M aircraft by other that Sikorsky, must complete a proficiency evaluation flight prior to the Maintenance Test Pilot Familiarization Course.

BLACK HAWK INSTRUCTOR PILOT FAMILIARIZATION COURSE
The BLACK HAWK Instructor Pilot Familiarization Course trains instructor pilots on how to safely conduct training in the latest generation of S70i/M BLACK HAWK helicopter.
Students will receive 10 hours of Instructor Pilot Familiarization flight time in the aircraft.
Please note: This course does not fulfill the renewal of flight instructor certificate requirement under 14 CFR 61.197.
This course will be conducted in the aircraft and covers the following topics:

PREREQUISITES
- Students must possess a previously qualified and current rotorcraft Certified Flight Instructor, or military Instructor Pilot, in helicopters by their cognizant military/government organization for a turbine helicopter.
- Have a minimum of 1000 flight hours in turbine rotorcraft, of which 500 hours must be Pilot in Command time.
- Students must, within the last 6 months, have 30 hours in type, 20 hours as Pilot in Command in type and 20 hours in specific model.
- Pilots who are not previously qualified in the S-70i/M or H-60M must complete the IFR or VFR BLACK HAWK Pilot Initial Qualification Course. Pilots who have previously qualified in S-70i/M or H-60M aircraft by other than Sikorsky, must complete a proficiency evaluation flight prior to the Instructor Pilot Familiarization Course.

BLACK HAWK MISSION EQUIPMENT FAMILIARIZATION COURSE
The BLACK HAWK Mission Equipment Familiarization Course is organized to familiarize pilots with their specific mission equipment. The course provides the necessary knowledge and proficiency to preflight and operate equipment that is part of the customers unique configuration.
Depending upon the customers aircraft configuration, the syllabus will need to be custom tailored and/or may include the following topics:

BLACK HAWK NIGHT VISION GOGGLE INITIAL COURSE
The BLACK HAWK Night Vision Goggle Initial Course is intended for aircrew members with no prior Night Vision Goggle qualification. This course provides pilots and/or crewmembers with instruction on the characteristics of utilizing NVGs in flight. The course includes classroom instruction and practical exercises as well as in-flight training.
