Lockheed Martin’s Chelmsford Operations facility is a design and manufacturing site that supports Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Air and Missile Defense programs. The 68,000-square-foot facility is located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The facility was acquired by Lockheed Martin in 1996 to support critical technology in Missile Defense.
Chelmsford’s more than 350 employees provide engineering and production support for two of MFC’s premier combat-proven missile systems—the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Weapon System and Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile. The Chelmsford team designs and produces components for both systems.
In November 2012, the Chelmsford Operations facility was one of eleven MFC facilities selected as a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence and quality achievement. Security at the facility was recognized in 2006 and 2010 with the Cogswell Award, which honors the highest principles of industrial security excellence. Chelmsford employees are also regularly recognized within Lockheed Martin; over 40 individuals have received company excellence awards over the past decade.
