Meet Rachel
Rachel, a former Army logistics officer, initially focused on logistics roles that mirrored her Army experience. However, as she explored more, she discovered her skills reached beyond logistics.
Through the Hiring Our Heroes program, Rachel transitioned to Lockheed Martin as a senior integrated program planner, finding invaluable support within the program-planning community.
“Everyone I’ve worked with has been so helpful with my transition to the civilian sector,” she said.
Meet Neil
A 20-year Marine Corps veteran, Neil recognized the importance of early planning for his transition. With help from SkillBridge, he gained real-world training in his last 180 days of service.
Now an items analyst, Neil feels his military background is a valuable asset.
Meet Carl
After 20 years in the Air Force, Carl transitioned to Lockheed Martin’s Talent Acquisition team as a senior sourcing strategist. Networking and mentoring were key to his successful job search.
“My mission in the Air Force was to inspire, engage, and recruit the next generation of airmen and guardians,” Carl shared. “I’m in a very fortunate position now that allows me to continue serving these same men and women.”

From 2022 to 2023, offers for LM Heroes, SkillBridge, and Fellowship programs at Lockheed Martin grew from 47 to 189, a trend continuing in 2024. Programs like Hiring Our Heroes and LM Heroes ensure that veterans can continue mission-driven work aligned with their values and expertise.
